CD Manufacturing FAQ

How shall I supply my audio master?

To manufacture your audio CDs we'll need you to supply us with a Red Book pre-master in audio, WAV or DDPi format. You can supply pre-masters in two ways:

BreedPort - You can upload your DDPi files direct to your own personal FTP space. Please contact port@wearebreed.com to retrieve your details.
CD - You can supply a physical working copy of your master on CDR or retail-ready (Multitrack pre-masters should be supplied disc-at-once as opposed to track-at-once). 

For CD Rom replication please supply your master on CDR or to BreedPort as a working copy.

The total running time for audio CDs should not exceed 79:00 minutes/seconds, or 700mb total for CD Rom. 

How should I supply my artwork?

Please contact us to request the template you need.  Once you have the template, please supply the artwork as PDF.

The basic requirements for CD manufacture designs are:

All files to be supplied as CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) or spot (Pantone) colours depending on your quote, at a resolution no lower than 300dpi.

Onbodies (disc face): Please refer to the template supplied for exact measurements (templates provided on request). Please ensure no image or text falls outside the printable area, and all keylines are removed from the centre hole and outer circumference.

Paperparts: 3mm of bleed is required around outside of all paperparts and no text within 3mm of cutlines or folds on paperparts. All files to be CMYK for paperparts unless Pantones have been agreed, and all files must have all keylines removed.

8+ page booklets should be supplied as printers' pairs (eg. 1 & 8, 2 & 7, 3 & 6).

ALL FILES MUST BE SUPPLIED ON OUR TEMPLATES, IN PDF FORMAT, with all transparencies flattened. Please supply with text layers unflattened, with all fonts embedded or converted to curves.

If you cannot output to PDF, we can convert other file formats (native files, .jpg, .tif etc) to PDF. Please note charges may apply if native files are supplied.

How long until I get my lovely CDs?

All CD replication projects we aim to deliver in approx. 12-14 working days from artwork approval.  This is the normal turnaround time, occasionally things can take a little bit longer if it is a very complex project, needs hand-packing, if it is peak season (September-December) or another particularly busy period which can occur from time-to-time.
